Added the below post just this morning. Skip ahead a few hours and I’m surfing some news sites and come across this London Times article

Seems it’s coming a little quicker than I thought.

A pilot program in England is embedding RFID chips in secondary school children’s uniforms to help keep track of them and alert school officials to misbehaving pupils.

Orwell just had the date wrong.
