Church wants Control Over Women

I just don’t get it…why do modern and perfectly capable women allow men to keep doing this to them.  In the church you can’t use the governmental “non-discrimination” laws, but you can sure use the “you can sleep on the couch until you change your male chauvinist pig ways.” law.

“The principal of St. John’s Lutheran School was fired this weekend for espousing the shocking doctrine that maybe the church is in error and men don’t have total authority over women. Is that equality I hear? Scandalous! We can’t have our children exposed to such disturbing arguments.”

The first reader comment sheds some light on the Church that did the firing.  I can’t believe how many churches still adhere to this stupid theology.

If you do some research, you will find that religion or “the church” is a way to control women, keep them “in their place”. And somewhere I read that women were feared because of the power they have over men. Also, the fact that women could “bring life” into this world (and they didn’t understand the miracle of life…it was a mysterious and scary thing for men). Probably still is.

Look at the Muslim world, and the Burkas that women “must” wear over there…because why? So men won’t lust after a woman if he sees her face? They are living the same way as thousands of years ago…..it is pathetic.

Don’t try to change the way churches are….they will always supress women.

You know, you don’t have to go to church to have a relationship with Jesus or God.

Spare yourself the anxiety of having to conform to the “rules” of church.

    Hi Trisho, thanks for visiting.

I have done the research for the past few years, and although I knew it was bad, I really didn’t understand just how bad it was. We are lucky people to be living in the western world and under a secular governmental system. Just stay away from religion and you should be OK.

I read and wrote about how the Southern Baptist synod just a while back reasserted that men are superior to women and women could not hold ministerial or any leadership roles except in the women’s auxiliary.

The fundagelical Muslims are just plain wacko and they deserve nothing but the worst. If I were a woman under their control…I would commit Seppuku. This world will remain a very dangerous place while they live and manage to have control over people.

You write: “Don’t try to change the way churches are….they will always suppress women.”

No, I want to try to change churches and at least bring some of them into the 19th. century. 🙂
Many of the fundamentalist denominations still believe there was an Adam and Eve and Garden of Eden and Noah’s Flood…among other weird things.

You write: You know, you don’t have to go to church to have a relationship with Jesus or God.

And: Spare yourself the anxiety of having to conform to the “rules” of church.

Girl, I know all that…I am an atheist. 🙂

Wow….you are the 2nd atheist I have met on here. Does this place attract atheists?

  4. trishothinks says:

Oh…it is REALLY bad in some African countries…and in the Mid East….have you checked out “female mutilation”? Yeah…look that up….so women can’t “enjoy” sex.

I’m so thankful I was born here….especially being a woman.

    Hi Trisho,

Regarding atheists; which ‘place’ are you talking about? 🙂

  6. thewordofme says:

    Hi again Trisho,

Yes I am aware of the mutilation you are talking about. Terrible thing to do to young women…I wish there was a way to stop it immediately. These people take away any innocence a young person may have, and that’s a terrible terrible thing.

Yes, this is a great country to be born into with all the opportunities and richness we enjoy. Now if we could only figure out what to do with politicians…it would be perfect. 🙂

    Hi Trisho,

    There’s probably 100’s if not 1,000’s of atheist blogs on wordpress…we’re a dime a dozen. 🙂
