Republicans Want To Kill Off Middle Class

Mike Lux over at the Huffington Post has written an article that sent chills down my spine. His take on the currant Republican Party is spot-on.

“The modern Republican Party has been taken over by a lunatic fringe of conservatives that are making a concerted, determined assault on the American working middle class. They are trying to destroy unions for firefighters, cops, teachers, and nurses. They want to make dramatic cuts in Social Security, or privatize it entirely. They want to end the guaranteed health coverage of Medicare, and put seniors on their own, at the mercy of private insurance companies. They want to make dramatic cuts in nursing home coverage and medical care for the disadvantaged through Medicaid.”

I just refuse to believe that the majority of the American people want these things that the Republicans are pushing.  Do the blue collar and middle management people want to pay more taxes while millionaires and billionaires pay less?  This is exactly what will happen if the Republicans get their way.  Rape of the common person.

“The Ryan budget is a remarkable document: all of its budget cuts hammer working class families, seniors, and students — while all of its tax cuts go straight to millionaires. It does almost nothing to deal with the deficit, yet still manages to deal a death blow to virtually every member of the working middle class and everyone trying to work their way into it. It is especially hard on seniors and the most vulnerable in society in the midst of the toughest economic times since the Great Depression, doing serious economic damage to anyone who isn’t a millionaire, oil company, or Wall Street bank.”  Mike Lux @ Hufpo  (My bold emphasis)

I think we will be recreating a time in our history where America nearly went under.  Revolution anyone?

Thank you for article. I think that this article is interesting . I like your post this site. I need to know how can I subscribe to your blog?. I will be follow you blog each 6 days.

  2. The problem is that the promise of medicare and social security as guarantee is a falsehood. There is no money left in Social security. We no long take in more than we send out. All there are US Treasury notes that say “they” (read US taxpayer) will pay it some time in the future – it was spent on the Great society programs over the past 40 years). The problem is demographics. There aren’t enough young people to pay for all the growing retired people. When the program was started we had 8 working people to 1 retired. Today there are 59 million on SS with 135 million workers -slightly more than 2 to 1 and the number of retired will dramatically increase over the next 10 years. To bad we aborted 50 million children over the past 40 years we sure could use them.

On the question of raising INCOME tax something the piped piper Gates and Buffet call for among others is that billionaires and multi-millionaires don’t make income. They make the majority of their revenue via stock options, real estate and corporate mergers -IOW capital gains which is at 15%. Taxing the relatively poor 250K living in NYC with 45% tax as it is and inflated rent prices just kills the middle class along with the self-employed.

It’s basic math we take in $2 trillion in revenue and we spend $3.5 trillion. Remove the troops not just from the three current wars but overseas in areas like England, Korea, Germany, Japan, Bosnia (ever notice that we always have troops stationed in countries from wars engaged by Democrat’s 50 years after a war is over?). That’s $1 trillion dollars, if the gov’t can’t come to some agreement then cut another $500 billion across the board.

After the economy grows and we lower our debt, we can readdress the inequities but not now.

Hello Qboa, it’s really nice to hear from you again. I thought my ranting against the Church on the pedophile issue had completely driven you away.

Do you suppose that part of the problem with Social Security is the legislature always raiding the fund and not paying it back? Medicare is in trouble because of inferior oversight and evil bloodsucking scum types scamming the system.

Some of those “Great Society” programs have been the only thing that stood between life and death for many, many humans in our country…of course the backside is the criminal activity preying on the programs. I doubt that any politician is completely clean on this point, and of course the industry behind Medicare is totally corrupt.

The earth already has much more population then it should have. Do you not think that those 50 million aborted wouldn’t be popping out children like everyone else? Do we really need another 100,000,000 + people in the US? There needs to be total population control on this planet, or the whole planet will die, and us with it.

I’m sure our hard working Senators and Congressmen/women can figure out a way to overcome this disparity.

Regarding all the wars in the last 50 years, I think only two were “righteous”…WW II and Afghanistan. All the others were trumped up.

I agree whole heartedly about bringing the troops home. We should also cut out these new Navy Carriers and air-power and weapons programs with multi-billion dollar price tags. It outrageous that our defense budget is larger than all-the-other-countries-on-earth-combined!!!

The basic math is that by cutting out all the graft and pork in politics we poor citizens would be nearly tax free. As it is the corporations are tax free and we proletariat (no I’m not communist) pay it all (mostly). Our priorities are totally screwed up and backwards. And the jobs keep poring out of the country.

New polls out today say most Americans are really fed up with how the government is governing…revolution anyone?

QB: Of course, but those raids were for unfunded Great Society programs.

Some of those “Great Society” programs have been the only thing that stood between life and death for many, many humans in our country…of course the backside is the criminal activity preying on the programs. I doubt that any politician is completely clean on this point, and of course the industry behind Medicare is totally corrupt.

QB: Of course but the system was intended for those desitiute and unable to work. Now its for anyone who doesn’t want to work.

The earth already has much more population then it should have. Do you not think that those 50 million aborted wouldn’t be popping out children like everyone else? Do we really need another 100,000,000 + people in the US? There needs to be total population control on this planet, or the whole planet will die, and us with it.

QB: Like me you were likely taught the Maltus population bomb. If you look at the UN demographics we will peak at 9.8 billion people in 2045. However that figure will crash down to 4 billion and perhaps even lower.
We are already in an inverted pyrimad with growing numbers of old and fewer of the young. European culture is going to die out. The only reason teh USA isn’t in complete decline is because of legal and illegal immigration.

As it is the corporations are tax free and we proletariat (no I’m not communist) pay it all (mostly). Our priorities are totally screwed up and backwards. And the jobs keep poring out of the country.

QB: I think its dumb to tax corporations. It really is only a tax on us. The corporation writes of the taxes and they also pass on the tax in their produce. IMO we should make all corporations tax free that produce 75% of their produce inside the USA. And have a 25% tariff on everything else coming in.

New polls out today say most Americans are really fed up with how the government is governing…revolution anyone?

QB:Well sadly I do think we are moving that way in this country. However I think the divid is going to be localized somewhere around the 9,000 person/sq mile. Those that are more dense per sq/mile will be more and more dependent on gov’t and social service and increase taxes, and the less dense per sq/mile will desire less gov’t, less taxes and less social services.
