If you ask me, I dont think Evolution or Christianity should be taught in schools.Nether should be part of any Academic Curriculum because they are not part of what school is supposed to be about in the first place. With the U.S trailing behind school age children of other countries in math, reading, & science, Who has the time for adult Ego Inflated Argument’s about the orgin of this Shit hole?
Evolution is science – it’s one of the most well tested scientific theories that there is, so of course it should be taught. Christianity, as you say, should not be taught.
What an odd opinion. Most of the biological sciences depend on the understanding of evolution. It isn’t just about what happened way back when. It is also about what is happening now. How can we come up with any advances in medicine without it? What about genetics and preventing new diseases?
Yes, the fundamentalists in America are among the stupidest people on earth–in my humble opinion.
Hey, I resemble that remark! (I was raised a ‘fundy” LOL)
Sorry Ms. Rogers, present company excepted of course..:-)
Thanks! Actually I think the problem is not that fundamentalists are dumb, but that fundamentalism doesn’t teach you to think. I and other people I know had no trouble holding contradictory beliefs like the fact that dinosaurs roamed the earth millions of years ago and the Adam and Eve story as being factually true .It has taken me many, many years to recovery from my “brainwashing”
But, the Adam and Eve story is proven wrong…they did NOT exist.
Um, that was my point. Sorry I guess I wasn’t clear enough.
I’m sorry, I guess I misread (obviously) your post. Too many late nights is my excuse, and I’m sticking to it..:-)
Have you understood the consequence of their being no Adam and Eve??
Yeah, that throws the idea of original sin out the window. That is not a bad thing in my book. I prefer to see that story as symbolic anyway.
