I’ve said it before…there’s hardly a day goes by when I don’t find further proof that the Muslim religion is purely evil and out to take away all the advances that the modern civilized world has achieved. They don’t care about human rights or woman’s rights, they are out to kill the homosexuals, the blasphemer, the heretic…anyone who says bad things about their religion is dead meat. If you are Jewish they want to kill you, if you are Christian they will try to convert you, if that fails they want to kill you.
Now BBC news comes up with the story of Muslim schools in England that are teaching Muslim children the evil crap that their parents espouse.
The full BBC story here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11799713
An excerpt below:
“One of the text books asks children to list the “reprehensible” qualities of Jewish people. A text for younger children asks what happens to someone who dies who is not a believer in Islam – the answer given in the text book is “hellfire”.
Another text describes the punishment for gay sex as death and states a difference of opinion about whether it should be carried out by stoning, burning with fire or throwing the person over a cliff.
In a book for 14-year-olds, Sharia law and its punishment for theft are explained, including detailed diagrams about how hands and feet of thieves are amputated.”
Yeah sure, Islam is a religion of Peace and Love…not

Gathering Monsoon clouds over the mountains.
Our Monsoon season ended here this past week and we are finally getting some cooler, dryer atmosphere again. Pretty good one this past year; it lasted a few weeks longer than usual. Monsoon is pretty important to Southern Arizona as we depend on it filling up our ground water reservoirs for another year, and cooling off those 100 degree plus days of our summer.
We returned from a conference at the Mayo clinic in Scottsdale, AZ not long ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was great and there was finally a (very small) hint of fall in the air . Phoenix and the surrounding cities of Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Peoria, and whatever other burgs there are snuggling up against it makes a humongous metropolitan area now. It has grown like Los Angeles did in its early years…city after city incorporating and blending in with the surrounding cities. Writer Edward Abbey has called it “the blob that is eating Arizona,” Population of the whole area is said to be close to 5 million now; and it is the fifth largest city in the US, and the second fastest-growing Metro area in the US…..Glad I don’t live there.
Weather I’m waiting for.

A correspondent writes the following to me”
“In regards to atheism, if you show me how something can come out of nothing I will convert to!”
Sure I can show you something that came out of nothing…the myth about gods…any god. There was never any proof for any god…still isn’t, and yet some people swear that a god somehow controls who they are and what they do…what happened to free-will?
He then continues:
“Moreover my question in regards to killing was not why you wouldnt do it, its more of what instills that ideology or law in your persona. Why are we born with this mentality, who instilled it in us at birth?” <sic>
When early man was roaming the earth hundreds of thousands of years ago the evidence seems to show that humans hunted and killed each other with abandon. This went on for a looong time and probably reached its climax in early Biblical times and up until the Catholic Church was usurped as a political power over humans. Nowadays there are so many of us and we have the ability to choose who rules over us (mostly), and it’s politically incorrect to kill citizens with abandon. Humans have the innate desire for self preservation and the smart ones realize that they must act with compassion towards others if they expect the same back to them.
Of course there are some religions that continue to kill with seemingly no consequences. They do this by targeting enemies and citizens alike…scaring everyone to death. Christianity’s last big fling at this process was Hitler’s time; who along with the explicit help of the Catholic Church (which was violently against Jews at the time) and eventually the Lutheran’s and such…contrived to wipe Jews off the face of the earth. Of course we know they also went after the mentally deficient, the homosexuals, the Jehovah’s witnesses, some other small sects, and of course anybody who disagreed with them.
Muslims are pretty much stuck in the 7th Century, where they will probably stay as long as the religion is allowed to continue. In the Middle East and some other parts of the third world they (Muslim’s) continue to kill with impunity, and of course the leaders are fanatically trying to bring this practice to America. The Muslim Allah is supposed to be the same as the Christian and Jewish God…is He (God/Allah/Yahweh) also instilling the same innate reverence for life and morality in the Muslim’s as Christianity is supposed to have.
I’m sorry, but I don’t believe that the argument that God/Allah/Yahweh provides humans with their basis for morals or reverence for life stands up. It’s only the last few years that these things and the concurrent arguments have started to appear and that more or less seems to be simultaneous with higher civilization.
Early Christianity may have spouted morality, but the record shows that it is responsible for millions of deaths, what with all the many religious wars, which, by the way, continue today in many places in the world.
Also for your consideration is the Catholic/Spanish Inquisitions and the witch hunts of the Dark Ages in which as many as three million innocent people were put to death by “Christianity.”
We should also remember that the Spanish Christian’s of the 15th and 16th Century and the later European Christians killed or enslaved as many as 100,000,000 indigenous people of the North, Central, and South America, and all the Caribbean Islands.
I wonder where their God given morals and reverence for life was.
Don’t forget that the early Hebrews were killing men, women, and children, whole tribes and all their animals. And their “God” was telling them to do this…
Religion/God/Allah/Yahweh has never been a sound basis for morality, and it’s certainly not instilled in us from birth by some non-existent spirit floating in the sky.

“Christian apologists think it is rational to seek out evidence that supports their preconceived beliefs and ignore the evidence that doesn’t. They already know the truth, and so view their job as making a case against any arguments from skeptics and doubters. Scientists, even if they have preconceived beliefs, examine all the evidence and go wherever the data lead.” Victor Stenger, Physicist, Author of – God: The Failed Hypothesis
Christian Apologists do all they can possibly do to try to prove their God…and they fail miserably. There is not one bit of evidence they can point too that is irrefutable; however the atheist or scientists can point to proof after proof that things written about and believed from the Bible are false.
Scientists find proof that a Biblical story is false and the Christian Apologists say, “Well we always thought the story was allegorical” or “the story is just to teach a moral lesson.” Or, some Christian Apologists swear-and-be-damned that the science is wrong and bring forth their own Christian Scientist to put up a smoke screen of lies that fools most trusting members of the fold…in other words they lie to their own brethren, and they hope that any of the general public that happens to notice will also fall for it.
This is one of the defining characteristics of today’s Christian Apologists. The only way to make the case they want…is to lie their ass off. They haven’t the brains and learning to dispute the actual true evidence and proofs that science can bring to bear. They have to lie. How Christian of them.
To my knowledge ALL of the rebuttals that Christian Apologists have used against science, trying to prove that their religion is true, are provably wrong. The only thing the religious can do is hope that most people don’t take the time to check out the facts. Most every Christian Apologist out there that writes to atheist bloggers is sooo mislead and unlearned and many don’t even know the details of their own religions dogma.
To my mind something that cannot be proven by any means at all…does not warrant belief. If someone tells you that UFO’s are real and they can’t offer any real tangible proofs (and so far, despite what you hear, NO one has been able to do that) what are you supposed to do, believe it anyway? I don’t think so. Christianity has had two thousand years to prove it is true and all it still has is anecdotal stories; nothing that can be tested or confirmed in any way shape or form. For hundreds of years the Christian church killed all those that disbelieved, now that humanity has grown up all they can do is apply peer-pressure…thankfully
I have heard that as much as 70 percent of Americans cannot read and understand the science section of the New York Times, and only 20 to 25 percent of Americans are scientifically savvy enough to understand DNA, evolution, what radiation or a molecule is. I would guess that it’s those same people who cannot read and understand all the evidence that’s coming from the relevant sciences that religion is nothing but fiction. They are seemingly unable to follow the lines of logical deductions that lead to this conclusion.
All Christians are in denial…they have to be to keep believing the in the house of cards they have built. They can believe in other modern day sciences, in fact they can build facets of their lives around some sciences, but not those sciences that show, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are throwing their life away on a non-existent deity.
A tactic that has fairly recently shown up is to try and deflect all the real evidence and throw up a smoke screen by asserting that science and religion are separate ‘Magisteria,’ and that one should not attempt to use science against religion because religion has it’s own ‘truths.’ I suggest that this position is natural animal fertilizer…religion has no ‘truths’… it is pure lie and it has to constantly change in minuscule amounts year after year to try to keep up with the real world.

So a church in Gainesville, Florida is threatening to burn a bunch of Korans. The pastor of the church Terry Jones is asking other religious groups to join in his “International Burn a Koran Day” on the ninth anniversary of the terror attack on New York city and Washington DC.
The controversial Florida-based Dove World Outreach Centre claims they have received thousands of messages of support for their stand against what they call an “evil religion” and they have refused to back down.
And in Tennessee politicians are bashing Islam to get votes. The issue about the religion and what it stands for has been raised repeatedly on the campaign trail and the message seems clear…they don’t like the Muslim religion and they are preying on the Middle American fear of Islam and all that it has stood for in our minds since 9-11. The Muslim’s are trying to build a Mosque in Tennessee and the people of the state don’t like it one bit.
Seeing as how the hard-line Muslim leaders around the world are not condemning the violence they have created, is seems only fair to me. No matter what propaganda our own government (and other primarily Middle Eastern governments) puts out…most Americans, whether they admit it or not, believe that Islam is evil and terroristic.
One has only to look at or listen to the stories on the International news most days to find some example of the evil the Islam religion constantly propagates. Women are less than human in the way they are treated and their teen children, both male and female, are considered weapons of mass destruction, and the people in general are victimized by their leaders
Their culture, which is nearly indistinguishable from their religion, is totally alien to America and our separation of church and state, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and they are trying to impose their Sharia law, which is merely a vehicle to keep women under their thumbs, on our land as well as others around the world. Make no mistake about this…Muslims are plotting world domination. And they are more devious and blood-thirsty than Christian Dominionist’s.
And now they want to build a Mosque in sight of where the Twin Towers used to stand …the ultimate slap in the face to America…and it looks like they will get away with it.
All you ever hear from them is “Islam is a religion of peace and love”…Yeah right. They are committed to the downfall of Christianity and Jewry, and there is no doubt about that at all. Remember they have surpassed the Catholic Church in member numbers and they have the highest birth rate of all the Western world.
Could this lead to the final war the Bible talks about? Christianity and Islam fighting it out for the hearts and minds of the Human Race. Or could this just be more evidence that all religions are stupid and really really dangerous and should probably be banned? Humans don’t know what the hell they are doing when they mess around with interpreting 2,000 year old goat herder crap.

Among all the religions that have contradictory Gods…only One or None can be right. It is just as likely that none are right or that some other god with entirely different characteristics or that multiple gods with different characteristics exists. We have no irrefutable proofs of any kind that any proposed god exists. All we have (or have ever had) is personal anecdotal attestations of belief. As far as the Abrahamic religions go, two thirds of the world doesn’t think this God exists.
Muslims believe in a god who is utterly transcendent, non-anthropomorphic, and to whom we humans are required to submit in total obedience. The Christian god, however is partially transcendent, three persons in one, anthropomorphic, and whom we are supposed to show love. The Jewish God is less transcendent, has a special role for the Jewish tribes, and they are singled out from all of humanity. The Hindu God or gods are so alien to my Western way of thought that I can’t even go there yet.
All religions except possibly some small sects in India do not account for all the proven hundreds of thousands of years man has been on earth. Most all Jews, Christians and Muslims (the Abrahamic religions) believe life began on earth 10,000 years ago, or less, and this is despite all the fundamentalists’ claims provably false. Some of the Christian denominations of late are recognizing that science is actually right on the long ages, and evolution and accepting this, but have so-far not fully integrated these facts into their dogma. If you are a fundamentalist; Where do you think this god was for 190,000 +- years?
How is it rational for anyone to believe in something with logically contradictory characteristics? It is not rational to believe in something that is defined one way…when the alleged same thing is defined in a different way down the street in another Temple/Church/Synagogue.
Christians maintain that serving their God is what gives them purpose and that all their morality comes from this God, seemingly disregarding the fact that billions of other people can find purpose to living and loving and can act with morality, all without belief in a transcendent being.
Albert Einstein denied the existence of the traditional monotheistic God and refused to believe that said God could even be moral if He and the religionist’s claims about Him were true. If this God was omniscient and omnipresent as Christianity claims, He would be ultimately responsible for all of the suffering of humanity down through the ages. Gods that reflect human frailty are not moral or real gods.
Some Christian sects/denominations define God as being so powerful that free-will is nonexistent, that who we are and what we do is entirely up to Gods interference. Others will define god as one who gives us tremendous freedoms/free-will and hardly ever, or never, interferes.
A person looking at all these differences would be justified in just staying away from all of them. After all only one or none of them could possibly be right, and us mere humans could not possibly pick the right one…if there even was a right one.
“While 40 million people died of starvation in the last decade, churches spent $10 billion on campuses.” Steve McSwain

“Under theism, we are nothing more than rats in a maze, running out our prearranged lives through arbitrary predetermined scenarios to a foreordained conclusion, never actually making any progress or accomplishing anything except satisfying the unknowable whim of the experimenter. I say this view of reality is both false and depressing. We can do better. We can tear down the walls of the maze and set our own course, throw the puzzles aside and find out the real reasons for things. We are awake, alive and free right here, right now, and we have lives to live and the whole wide universe to explore. Who needs a god?” Ebon Musings

Think about this you theists out there. The Christian religion has it all figured out…there is no deviations allowed in the melodramatic script. God planned all of this from the beginning and we figured it out from the beginning…we are predestined to follow the plot set up by God–our future is predetermined by God… Do you see the contradiction here? So much for the free-will all the Christian apologists talk about.
I think all the Christians are just conned into their belief. The writers of the Bible and all the writers that have pushed the silly stories on us are just part of the con. They know it’s false and they have no proofs–at all—so they say you must have faith and the reason God doesn’t show himself is that would take away our free-will and ability to make a free choice—excuse me but that is bull-shit. If the story is true, we have no free-will.
This whole religion, just like all others, stinks to high heaven. Its stories of God and the world are no more believable than those of Zeus, Brahma, Allah (whoops, that’s the same as the Christian God) Enlil, Horus, Isis, Juno, or any of the other hundreds and hundreds out there. Even the Hebrews have a history of believing in other gods before they settled on JHWH about 590+- BC
Proof of this…the insane number of different ways to believe in this god. There are over a thousand different sects—all claiming that only they have the keys to heaven—only they know what God wants us to do. What hubris is this?
I’m going to be presumptuous here and show a little hubris also and say that if there really was a god…everybody would know it without a doubt…there would not be any argument about who has the “true” religion. There would not be over a thousand different denominations fighting for dominance. There never would have been those religious wars down through the ages wherein millions of innocent humans were killed in the name of “God.” There would be no war between Muslims and Christians.
The Christians profess to believe in the ways of Jesus, but his message has been totally corrupted by all who followed him. If Jesus (remember-He was also supposed to be God) was real, do you think his message would only be interpreted one way…or thousands?

Listen up kiddies, they’re at it again. It’s happening in small bites scattered here and there so most people don’t even realize what’s going on. We citizens have no say anymore.
Under the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act passed in 1998 the Obama administration has shut down 73,000 blogs this week which were hosted on the Blogetery.com WordPress based hosting service. Initially the target was a small group of sites which were involved in illegal file sharing, but ultimately a request was issued to BurstNet, the Blogetery.com’s hosting provider, to shut down the entire network of 73,000 blogs, most of which were engaged in no illegal activity, including harmless sites like Science Experiments for Kids and political sites like Tea and Politics.

Jesus comments in the Bible that he knows of Adam and Eve. If you go with the Trinitarian view of Christianity that would actually be God commenting on them…which of course “proves” that the Christian religion is true. At least that is what evangelical fundamentalists would have us believe.
There is just one BIG problem with that belief (along with hundreds of little ones). Adam and Eve, as described in the Bible, never existed. There is no doubt among earth scientists, at all, that the earth has had real humans, living all over it, for tens of thousands of years. There is not one bit of doubt among earth scientists that Neanderthals were living on earth for about a quarter of a million years. There is no doubt among real biologists that evolution has been going on for millions of years.
You can go back 6,000 or 10,000 years and there was at the very least a million or two people living on this planet.
Think of the consequences of no Adam and Eve; NO fall from grace, No expulsion from the Garden of Eden, NO original sin, NO need for Jesus to expiate our non-existent sins.
Think of where this leaves St. Paul…all that made-up theology is not needed any more.
Where does this leave the rest of the stories in the Bible?
