In March of this year a developmentally delayed 4 year old boy who had to wear leg braces because his ankles were malformed and weak because of a premature birth, was on his way to Disney World for his birthday celebration.
The braces the boy has to wear are made of metal and hard plastic…of course this sets off the airport scanners in Philadelphia and the SS TSA screener said the boy had to take the braces off and he had to walk without them.
The boy’s father, Bob Thomas, a law enforcement officer with the Camden, NJ police says the family complied with the order but remained very upset and contacted Daniel Rubin, a columnist who has been reporting on mistreatment of travelers during TSA screenings
TSA spokeswoman Ann Davis told Rubin that the boy should not have been told to remove his braces.
“The boy should have been directed to a private screening area, where he could have been swabbed for traces of explosive materials,” Rubin is reporting.
How f**king stupid are these people anyway? It seems every day or two the news is reporting a new incident where the TSA agent is apparently brain dead and unable to think on their feet…and it’s getting worse every day.
We can’t say anything to them or we’ll get arrested, and if you’re escorted away they do everything in their power to humiliate you in front of other passengers, and they’ll lie like there’s no tomorrow to save face when they are obviously in the wrong 90% of the time.
Their police powers need to be taken away from them as they are obviously not trained to handle the kind of power they have. Video and audio files of each encounter need to be made as this will be a vital deterrent to the abuse the SS screeners would mete out to their victims. And they Really need to have more customer relations training.
Best thing to do though is not fly for awhile. Put off that trip to see relatives, or not take an Island vacation for a year or so and boycott all flights except those absolutely necessary…see what happens…I’ll bet TSA under pressure from the airlines will straighten up their act.
Government is the real problem …they set up these crappy agencies and give them powers that they should never have. They beat you over the head and tell you that you do as directed or we’ll sh*t all over you and yours. No sense of diplomacy at all, but what do you expect from the SS?

A law that’s been on American books (and in the Constitution) forever is now biting the dust because of Presidents Bush and Obama. Breaking his campaign promises to enhance civil liberties in relation to national security the Obama administration is continuing the screwing over the American Constitution that Bush started.
“The Obama administration is seeking to make it easier for the FBI to compel companies to turn over records of an individual’s Internet activity without a court order if agents deem the information relevant to a terrorism or intelligence investigation.
The administration wants to add just four words — “electronic communication transactional records” — to a list of items that the law says the FBI may demand without a judge’s approval. Government lawyers say this category of information includes the addresses to which an Internet user sends e-mail; the times and dates e-mail was sent and received; and possibly a user’s browser history. It does not include, the lawyers hasten to point out, the “content” of e-mail or other Internet communication.” From the Washington Post.
The use of National Security Letters is equivalent to the old ‘Writs of Assistance’ the British used against us here in America in pre-revolutionary times
From Wikipedia
“In practice, customs writs of assistance served as general search warrants that did not expire, allowing customs officials to search anywhere for smuggled goods without having to obtain a specific warrant. These writs became controversial when they were issued by courts in British America in the 1760s, especially the Province of Massachusetts Bay. Controversy over these general writs of assistance inspired the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which forbids general search warrants in the United States.
The NSL’s are the modern equivalent to general search warrants which are constitutionally forbidden. Good luck on getting the administration to admit this. 😦 The American government just keeps pushing the envelope regarding how much the citizens will put up with. I think the general feeling among top officials is that they can get away with pretty much anything…if they mention terrorism.

Listen up kiddies, they’re at it again. It’s happening in small bites scattered here and there so most people don’t even realize what’s going on. We citizens have no say anymore.
Under the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act passed in 1998 the Obama administration has shut down 73,000 blogs this week which were hosted on the Blogetery.com WordPress based hosting service. Initially the target was a small group of sites which were involved in illegal file sharing, but ultimately a request was issued to BurstNet, the Blogetery.com’s hosting provider, to shut down the entire network of 73,000 blogs, most of which were engaged in no illegal activity, including harmless sites like Science Experiments for Kids and political sites like Tea and Politics.

Below is a link to the absolutely scariest documentary I have ever experienced. Its long (show off your attention span skills here), at 151 minutes, but it covers many subjects that will all heavily impinge on our life in mostly negative ways if we allow them to happen. I personally fear that its past the point where we can do anything about them…the government has too many guns with men trained to use them on their own people, and the constitutional constraints that could have stopped what they plan have been wiped away by the last three presidents and their Presidential Decrees.
Some of the material may seem old because they have been gone over before, but they will be recycled by their proponents.
Trust neither Democrats or Republicans or Tea-Baggers…they are essentially all on the same side; though most don’t realize it.

A look at how Americans are treated at inland border patrol checks.
It seems it doesn’t matter if a Liberal or conservative administration is in power…if you refuse UN-constitutional searches at inland Border Patrol checkpoints they will beat you to within an inch of your life. These federal agents are out of control, your life is in real danger if you resist them in the tiniest way. This country is not free anymore, and the police forces are out to beat us into submission.
Of course we all know the outcome of the trial this minister will have to undergo. He will have a dozen “witnesses” from the border patrol who will say he resisted legal requests from the agents and he “resisted” arrest. The surveillance tapes will be mysteriously “lost” or the cameras will have “malfunctioned.” and he will face imprisonment or more probably he will be offered some kind of “deal” that will save face for the agency
All of this is in the finest Conspiracy Theory tradition, the police agencies conspire to hurt people who legally resist them and then they conspire to lie about what happened when they go too far in retaliation.
We citizens need to realize that ALL civil police and federal enforcement agencies in America WILL now use life-threatening force against anyone who back talks them…they are no longer working for the citizens. We no longer have 4th. amendment rights in America, and federal agents seem to no longer need probable cause…

Hi John Andrew, thanks for your reply.
You write:
“After stating that you’re not hung up on pain and suffering, you immediately bring up an argument that says maybe you are! “And:
“We don’t understand why God ordered the wiping out of certain people groups, but when we judge God for being unjust, we are a lot of things, none of them right, none of them just, and none of them smart. God has much more information than you. He has reasons for the things you complain about that we cannot possibly understand, because we have too small a perspective and our capacity to understand is so much more limited than God’s.”
John I’m sorry I don’t seem to be explaining myself very well. What I am trying to say here:
“If God and Jesus were preaching a sermon of love and understanding, what the hell is going on with all the so called Christians killing each other for over a thousand years? Is/was this Godlike?
What on earth was the Jewish God thinking when he was going around telling “His” people to kill and maim everyone in sight?
I’m thinking that if you take in and consider all the horrible things that have happened in the history and name of Christianity or YHWH or Elohim or El, or whatever you want to call this God…it’s all a lie…what we have seen and read about is not worthy of a real God…a real God would not allow such a screwed up operation to go on for over 2,000 years and still be in such disarray…unable to agree on anything.
Why do you think we have so many religions and schisms and enclaves and crazy people running around killing each other….”
I’ll put in plainer talk here. The whole history of the Christian movement seems to be a chimera…fake, wholly made up by men, a figment of some Hebrew sheep/goat herders imagination, phony, a lie, does not fit the real evidence of our known history. The known history of the beginnings of this religion does not have any signs of being directed or led by a God. We only know what men have done and there is no signs of Godly leadership or help.
I’m not concerned by all the deaths that are on the hands of Christians…I’m just using the history of the genocides that were caused by them as an example of the absence of a God behind the men who were doing all of this in the name of God…no God would do such a thing. There was never a God behind all the murders and torturing going on…men did this and used “God” as an excuse for doing it. There was never a God anywhere near the early or later Christians.
The church that brought the Scriptures through the Dark and Middle Ages was the Catholic Church and the Popes associated with it. Read some non-church history of the “Mother Church” and the Popes and leaders of the times. Your Scripture was handled exclusively by, and redacted by, evil men of the early church for over 1200 years, again a sign that there is no God behind all of Christianity.
This taken together with other things we have learned about the Bible such as; no flood of Noah, no Tower of Babel, no Exodus and consequent parting of the Red/Reed Sea, modern men/women being on earth for 200,000 years, pre-human Neanderthals walking around for over 200,000 years…which pretty much means no Adam and Eve, and if we lose Adam and Eve there is no original sin story for Paul to concoct, or for Jesus to have to expiate our original sin by dying on the cross for.
If there are mis-truths or lies or false information in the Bible, it losses all authority. If you can’t tell what is true and what is made up (and there really is a lot of made up stuff in there) how can anybody believe it?
You write:
“With respect, let me also caution you on something. God will not be mocked. When you go from asking legitimate questions to angry dismissals of God and his goodness, you commit the very sin for which God threw Satan out of Heaven. You appoint yourself judge over God! Could anything be more absurd?”
John, with respect to you…I don’t believe there is a God to mock. The evidence is nowhere to be found. If I were to join a religion I would surely do my homework and examine and inspect it. I would study its history both from its own perspective and from an outsider’s viewpoint. If it claimed to be the only source of Truth and that it had the only “True God” I would surely examine the claims from all sides, and try to divine and verify its “realness”
This God whose name has been at one time or another; Yahweh, Elohim, Jehovah, El, Baal, Allah, El Elyon, Yeshua, Adonai, El Shaddai, and who knows what else, does not seem to be anything more than an idea. He has evolved from a God that had a wife, to a stern taskmaster who intrudes in the day to day affairs of a tribe of sheep/goat herders and directs these sheep/goat herders to slaughter other tribes, finally to a “Loving God” under the watchful eye of Paul, who totally changes Jesus’ message.
Don’t feel bad for Christianity though. My examination of Islam and Hinduism and Buddhism did not turn up any better. Although I did not do as thorough an investigation of these religions as I did of Christianity, I can tell you with confidence that they are pretty hokey and infantile also. The level of violence is pretty high in both Islam and Hinduism, probably at the same level or slightly higher then Christianity, with Buddhism being fairly gentle.
Their stories and God(s) and histories are about as dopey as Christianity’s is, that is to say they don’t make much sense in our modern times. They also are clearly the product of their times and the sophistication and knowledge level of the ancient writers.
Christians are not the problem…religion is.
You write:
“The fact remains that if one is to learn, one must be willing to be taught.”
In my early years I was taught, in my later years I took Bible study, in my ‘now’ years I have taken to self study. All the old evidence is still there, and new evidence is falling down faster and harder than at any time in history.
I remain open to change, but there must be better evidence behind it than there is now.

Surfin’ the internet today and look what I found. Do you think this is true? Will BIG business telecoms take over our internet? I have a feeling that if this were to happen most of the content and user base would dry up.
Canadian ISPs Plan Net Censorship
Concerns grow that Canada’s plan will wipeout alt news sites and spread to U.S.
By Mike Finch
A net-neutrality activist group has uncovered plans for the demise of the free Internet by 2010 in Canada. By 2012, the group says, the trend will be global.
Bell Canada and TELUS, Canada’s two largest Internet service providers (ISPs), will begin charging per-site fees on most Internet sites, reports anonymous sources within TELUS.
“It’s beyond censorship, it is killing the biggest ecosystem of free expression and freedom of speech that has ever existed,” I Power spokesperson Reese Leysen said. I Power was the first group to report on the possible changes.
Bell Canada has not returned calls or emails.
The plans made by the large telecom businesses would change the Internet into a cable-like system, where customers sign up for specific web sites, and must pay to see each individual site beyond a certain point. Subscription browsing would be limited, extra fees would be applied to access out-of-network sites. Many sites would be blocked altogether.
“We had inside sources from bigger companies who gave us the information on how exclusivity deals are being made at this moment between ISPs and big content providers (like TV production studios and major video game publishers) to decide which web sites will be in the ‘standard package’ offered to their customers, leaving all the rest of the Internet unreachable unless you pay extra subscription fees per every ‘non-standard’ site you visit,” Leysen said. “We knew the source to be 100% reliable, but we also knew the story would be highly controversial if we released the information. We did it because we knew that we’d get more official confirmations once we’d come forward with it. And indeed that is what happened. Dylan Pattyn, who is writing the soon-to-be published article for Time Magazine, received confirmation from sources within Bell Canada and TELUS after we released the information.”
The plans would in effect be economic censorship, with only the top 100 to 200 sites making the cut in the initial subscription package. Such plans would likely favor major news outlets and suppress smaller news outlets, as the major news outlets would be free (with subscription), and alternative news outlets, like AFP, would incur a fee for every visit.
“The Internet will become a playground for billion-dollar content providers just like television is,” said Leysen. “It won’t be possible for a few teenagers in their parents’ basement to start a small site like E-bay that then grows out to be the next big thing anymore. Right now the Internet belongs to those with the greatest ideas. In the future, it’ll belong to those with the biggest budgets.”
With plans in Canada uncovered, I Power thinks that companies in the United States and other nations are also planning similar actions.
“By 2012 ISPs all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit. These ‘other’ sites would then lose all their exposure and eventually shut down, resulting in what could be seen as the end of the Internet,” Leysen said.
Such a subscription plan could possibly restrict free speech far beyond even the current restrictions set by the governments of communist China. Not only would browsing be limited, but privacy would be invaded, as every web site viewed would likely be recorded on a bill in a manner similar to a phone bill.
Why would the ISPs institute such a plan? One word: money.
“This new subscription model is commercially far more beneficial to them than how it is now,” Leysen said. “If Fox wants to launch a new television show online, they’ll have to pay big money to all major ISPs to ensure that their new show will be offered and pushed in the ‘standard package’ of sites/services/channels that people will get through their Internet access. Plus ISPs will also gain extra revenue out of people trying to access the rest of the Internet, as they’ll pay extra subscription fees for every web site they visit.”
But it’s not just the big ISPs that stand to gain.
“Marketing and big budget ‘content-pushing’ just doesn’t seem to work on the Internet, and this is something that several industries want fixed. ISPs know this and will benefit greatly by fixing this for the marketing and entertainment industry,” Leysen said.
The ISPs are said to be confident they can institute such plans through deceptive marketing and fear tactics.
“The Internet will be more and more marketed as a place full of child pornography and other horrible illegal activity in order to get people on their [the ISP’s] side once they start restricting it and make it ‘safer,'” Leysen said. “Unless we really make a stand for this and make sure that mainstream media thoroughly covers the issue, the whole thing will be eased in with proper marketing to make sure that most mainstream customers won’t make a big deal out of it. They will only realize what was lost long after it’s gone.”

Well the United Nations has gone and done it. This Thursday (3-26-09) a UN forum passed a resolution condemning the “defamation of religion” despite the concerns of many that it will be used to justify the clamping down on free speech in Muslim and other countries with high Muslim populations. The UN Human Rights Council passed the non-binding text that was proposed by Pakistan on behalf of Islamic states. The vote was 23 in favor, 11 against, with 13 abstentions.
Western democratic governments and a broad alliance of activist groups voiced dismay about the text, which adds to recent efforts to broaden the concept of human rights to protect communities of believers rather than individuals
“The resolution said Muslim minorities had faced intolerance, discrimination and acts of violence since the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States, including laws and administrative procedures that stigmatize religious followers.
“Defamation of religious is a serious affront to human dignity leading to a restriction on the freedom of their adherents and incitement to religious violence,” the adopted text read, adding that “Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism.”
It called on states to ensure that religious places, sites, shrines and symbols are protected, to reinforce laws “to deny impunity” for those exhibiting intolerance of ethnic and religious minorities, and “to take all possible measures to promote tolerance and respect for all religions and beliefs.” From Reuters
This “defamation of religion” resolution is widely thought to ultimately muzzle any contrary views of the Islamic religion and allow Islamic states to continue to violate human rights. England already seems to have some form of restriction on free speech against religions as I keep reading of people getting in trouble speaking out against the Muslims in their country.
I particularly like the line above “Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism”
Say what? Wrongly associated? Human rights and terrorism? Of course that religion is associated with terrorism and human rights violations. Islam and the Islamic way of looking at the world is directly responsible for terrorism…who the hell was piloting the planes that crashed into the twin towers on September 11, 2001? Muslims were doing the deed, and they were financed by Saudi Arabian hard-line Muslim religionists.
Human rights violations you say; who in the hell punishes the woman who gets forcibly raped rather than the rapist, except the bloody Muslims s–t-heads? Who else kills the people born with a sexual preference different than their own, except the bloody Muslims?
Do you suppose this UN resolution will stop the Muslims from demonizing Israel and the Jews and Christianity? I wouldn’t hold my breath on this.
Who is it that is speaking out and saying that they want “Sharia law” to be the law of the land…everywhere—I believe that would be the Muslims.
Within Sharia law{1}{2}, there is a group of really interesting laws of “Haram” offenses which carry severe punishments. This would include pre-marital sexual intercourse, sex by divorced persons, post-marital sex, adultery, false accusation of unlawful intercourse, drinking alcohol, theft, and highway robbery, and of course homosexuality. Haram sexual offenses can carry a sentence of stoning to death or severe flogging.
Half or more of our country would be on death row if that ever happened here.
The Muslim religion is the direct cause of most of the worlds bloody fighting and genocide going on today, and now they want to get a “Get out of Jail free” card against any disparaging talk of them. And those that do talk bad of them will eventually get their ass thrown in jail for speaking out against Islam.
It seems the Muslims want “heresy” to be a criminal offence used against the whole world, secular and theist. I seem to remember some talk of this from evangelical fundamentalist type people too.
That just shows you a small part of how messed up the world is today…and it’s directly caused by religion…Muslims in this particular case.
