The Religious Right and Republican Party is Out To Kill Women

The Republican Party is out to kill women and/or their reproductive rights

Look out for HR3…a bill just passed by the house that is the most evil piece of legislation ever to exist since our country was created by those looking for liberty from religious control.

“…the bill will force all insurance companies in the country to drop abortion coverage.”  No Abortion for any reason…even if the life of the mother is in jeopardy, or the result of rape or incest.

This is the Republican Party and Christian religious rights agenda at its most evil…that agenda is to deny women any control over their own bodies.  They are taking on the role of the Big-Brother overseer of all women in this country…in sexual matters they will control women and you had better stay out of their way and off their radar or they will kill or destroy you.  This is tantamount to the creation of a “Religious Police” as found in Muslim controlled countries.

I have  made a promise to myself tonight.  I will do everything in my power and to my ability to work to kick out every Republican legislator from office…this is the most evil, immoral, vicious, malevolent, malignant, perverse, ugly, piece-of-shit law EVER to be proposed. It is a slap in the face not only to women, but anyone who values freedom.

Creationism and Science and Change

Science and Religion have…until recently, publicly fought over two issues.  Once, in the early 1600’s when Galileo Galilei dared to contest the Catholic Churches belief that the Sun revolved around the Earth.  The Church of course lost that battle, although it took hundreds of years before they admitted it, and they imprisoned the poor man for challenging their authority.

The second confrontation was on the subject of Evolution. When Darwin published his book On the Origins of Species, in 1859, I think every church in the world went bonkers in denial, and of course the Catholics were at the forefront of the condemnation.  This lasted until about 1950 when Pope Pius XII in his Encyclical Humani generas declared that evolution and faith were not in conflict. That was followed, in 1996, by Pope John Paul II, in his message to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, explicitly endorsed the findings of evolutionary theory.  So in essence what happened here is the Church just gave up, and in, because once again the preponderance of Real World evidence supported the side of science.

Now unfortunately the Catholic Church, although the largest, is not the only Christian congregation out there, and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of evangelical fundamentalist gnats flying around the bones of religion.

They are scrambling for dominance in the Protestant world and they are gathering souls and helping the best and brightest of their ilk to earn PhD’s and to write papers for their creationist journals where they argue that magic and the supernatural are true and ‘scientific.’ They want magic to be accepted in our school systems, all the way through college level, as how our world and universe was brought about.

They want to teach our children, our future generation, that the earth was created 6,000 years ago, and that dinosaurs walked the earth with Adam and Eve and Noah.  They want to teach that Neanderthals never existed and there was an ice-age after ‘The Flood.’  They propose to take the accumulated scientific knowledge of the human race and deny it’s truth, they want to tell our children that the scientist don’t know what they are doing…and are lying about their findings, and are probably in cahoots with Satan.

One cannot just listen to their rhetoric and say, “Well, maybe there’s something to it.”  You have to follow through with their assertions and question their motives.  They want nothing less than completely gutting our educational system, and by extension, our secular form of government. They literally want the Bible to be the ‘LAW’ of the land. They want their Christian Protestant church to rule over ALL of us.  They want their worldview to be controlling our destiny.  Even if you don’t believe their version of religion, they think they are right and should rule over you. They want an end to secular government and for theism to control all.

That’s damn scary.

Somehow I’m missing the love here.

Hosea 13:16

Are we seeing the love yet?

These, of course, are just a few of the scriptures that illustrate the love that courses throughout the OT part of the Bible. How people can read past these things and not be suspicious of the supposed God behind them is beyond me.

Is it any wonder that Paul, in his New Testament takeover, quickly steers the focus of the faithful away from this Old Testament Ogre, and into the different world vision of his supposed encounter with Jesus on the road (in a beam of light) to Damascus. Using the established OT world vision that many/most people of that culture were acquainted with, and building a new mythology, a new religion based on a kinder, gentler God image. Jesus…a God of Love…yea, that’s the ticket. Well, he didn’t really work out Jesus being God…that had to wait until the Catholics got into power. The early theology was a little rough and had to be tweaked a bit to make it more believable

I think Paul was looking around at all the religious fervor going on in his time, and got to thinking that if he could somehow meld the established OT religion (which Jesus was espousing) into the new mold of a milder spiritual personality that didn’t go around killing, raping, and torturing …he just might achieve lifetime employment for himself. The apostles didn’t seem to be doing much with their inheritance, why not fudge a little and scoop up this opportunity and run with it.

The concept of ‘original sin’ was pure genius on his part. Oh, the possibilities of this for sermons, placing guilt on the masses, and solidifying his place in history. A new concept that heretofore was not even thought of or mentioned in OT writings, or by Jesus, and he was able…by himself… to get it accepted by the theologians and common folk. What a guy.

Is God Even Real?

Does your religion adapt to new discovery or does it deny the existence of new facts? There are a few that adapt, and although I kinda think this is good, it still bothers me in many ways. I mean, to me religion, because God supposedly creates it, or us, or whatever, should have everything right from the beginning. There should be no questions, or even a perceived need to question anything, because everything meshes perfectly and makes sense from the beginning and explains all, from the start of time, to a thousand years or ten thousand or a billion years into the future.

If a true God created this universe, this galaxy, solar system, Earth, and man/woman, animals, etc., there should be no questions about it at all. Inquiring minds (no sly comments please;) that many people have, should immediately see the answers. There should not be scientists, or just plain folks who have an inquiring intelligence seeing inconsistencies in our existence. There should be no need for the constant bickering and back at you thing that has been going on for the last three or four hundred years now.

Our physical, universe, and such are more and more found to be describable in a testable physical manner. The science doesn’t go away–because it works–and explains in a manner that cannot be denied by reasoning, functioning, intellect. Religion cannot be explained adequately without magic. A phenomenon that has yet to be observed.

People who claim to be scientists and believe in a spirit that lives in the sky, who goes around creating matter and forming stuff, and wanting people to forever fall to their knees to worship her/him and follow this code of conduct that very few, if any people could, with any success, well I think there is something going on that may be a genetic thing. There is something in their DNA or brain connections that predisposes them to think that way. Look at the evidence they bring forth. How long does it take to disprove it by provable fact? If a God did this the truth would be staring you in the face. But it’s not, and never has been, and the assumptions of facts in the Bible are not valid anymore. But, then of course they never were.

The evidence keeps building up, and some otherwise intelligent people keep denying its truth. The real truth should be so in your face that its undeniable….by anyone.

A real, loving God, would not subject untold billions of people to the misery that this world has dished out before modern times…and still does to third world countries. There is no apologetics in existence that can make this right-No God works this way; unless he is a Dark God.

Can you imagine yourself being born into Darfur, or any of a dozen or more countries in Africa, and sitting in the desert as a child, starving to death? Now imagine tens of thousands or millions of your brother and sisters starving right along with you. A God, who sits back, sees this and does nothing, is not a competent God.

Does any of the melodrama that Christian religion attempts to impose on the whole world make logical sense?
