There Was No Moment of Creation

One of the many problems modern science poses for Christianity is the question of how to understand original sin. The traditional teaching, which holds that Adam and Eve were the only humans on the planet when they were created on day six of Creation Week, that the ground was cursed and they were expelled from Eden as a result of a specific sin they committed, and that this corrupted state was in some way passed down to all future human beings, is no longer tenable. A variety of lines of evidence make it clear that the human population has always numbered in the thousands and certainly never dipped down to two. Moreover, evolution makes clear that humans arose through eons of natural selection. There was no moment of creation, and there was no state of primordial perfection for them to sully. There Is Currently No Shortage Of Corporate Profits

“…There is currently no shortage of corporate profits or excessive executive compensation to explain away the failure of the private sector to create jobs. On the contrary, as The New York Times reports, “In the fourth quarter, profits at American businesses were up an astounding 29.2 percent, the fastest growth in more than 60 years. Collectively, American corporations logged profits at an annual rate of $1.678 trillion.” And to add insult to injury, the top executives, who seem unable or unwilling to create jobs or adequately reward their workers, have increased their own compensation by a whopping 12 percent over the previous year, setting the median pay at $9.6 million per year for those in control of the leading 200 companies. The Times adds that “C.E.O. pay is also on the rise again at companies like Capital One and Goldman Sachs, which survived the economic storm with the help of all of those taxpayer-financed bailouts.”  (My bold & underline emphasis.)

Yes sir, it’s the top 1% of American elite against the rest of us…and they are definitely winning.

The Evil TSA

From the Nov. 2 2010 Yahoo Finance / New York Times

” HAVING been taught by nuns in grade school and later going through military boot camp, I have always disliked uniformed authorities shouting at me. So I was unhappy last week when some security screeners at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago started yelling.

“Opt out! We got an opt out!” one bellowed about me in a tone that people in my desert neighborhood in Tucson usually reserve for declaring, “Rattlesnake!”

Other screeners took up the “Opt out!” shout. I was marched from the metal detector lane to one of those nearby whole-body imagers, ordered to take everything out of my pockets, remove my belt and hold my possessions up high. Then I was required to stand still while I received a rough pat-down by a man whose résumé, I suspected, included experience at a state prison…” Jack Sharkey  NYT

I wonder how long a boycott of all airline flights would take to change the attitude of the T.S.A. and the malevolent disrespect they show to anyone who questions their methods.  They are after all public servants and really need to change their tendency to shame and publicly  disgrace any questioner of their methods.  They act like evil SS troopers.

Christian Apologists

“Christian apologists think it is rational to seek out evidence that supports their preconceived beliefs and ignore the evidence that doesn’t. They already know the truth, and so view their job as making a case against any arguments from skeptics and doubters. Scientists, even if they have preconceived beliefs, examine all the evidence and go wherever the data lead.”  Victor Stenger, Physicist, Author of – God: The Failed Hypothesis

Christian Apologists do all they can possibly do to try to prove their God…and they fail miserably.  There is not one bit of evidence they can point too that is irrefutable; however the atheist or scientists can point to proof after proof that things written about and believed from the Bible are false.

Scientists find proof that a Biblical story is false and the Christian Apologists say, “Well we always thought the story was allegorical” or “the story is just to teach a moral lesson.” Or, some Christian Apologists swear-and-be-damned that the science is wrong and bring forth their own Christian Scientist to put up a smoke screen of lies that fools most trusting members of the fold…in other words they lie to their own brethren, and they hope that any of the general public that happens to notice will also fall for it.

This is one of the defining characteristics of today’s Christian Apologists.  The only way to make the case they want…is to lie their ass off.  They haven’t the brains and learning to dispute the actual true evidence and proofs that science can bring to bear.  They have to lie. How Christian of them.

To my knowledge ALL of the rebuttals that Christian Apologists have used against science, trying to prove that their religion is true, are provably wrong.  The only thing the religious can do is hope that most people don’t take the time to check out the facts.  Most every Christian Apologist out there that writes to atheist bloggers is sooo mislead and unlearned and many don’t even know the details of their own religions dogma.

To my mind something that cannot be proven by any means at all…does not warrant belief.  If someone tells you that UFO’s are real and they can’t offer any real tangible proofs (and so far, despite what you hear, NO one has been able to do that) what are you supposed to do, believe it anyway?  I don’t think so.  Christianity has had two thousand years to prove it is true and all it still has is anecdotal stories; nothing that can be tested or confirmed in any way shape or form.  For hundreds of years the Christian church killed all those that disbelieved, now that humanity has grown up all they can do is apply peer-pressure…thankfully

I have heard that as much as 70 percent of Americans cannot read and understand the science section of the New York Times, and only 20 to 25 percent of Americans are scientifically savvy enough to understand DNA, evolution, what radiation or a molecule is.  I would guess that it’s those same people who cannot read and understand all the evidence that’s coming from the relevant sciences that religion is nothing but fiction.  They are seemingly unable to follow the lines of logical deductions that lead to this conclusion.

All Christians are in denial…they have to be to keep believing the in the house of cards they have built. They can believe in other modern day sciences, in fact they can build facets of their lives around some sciences, but not those sciences that show, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are throwing their life away on a non-existent deity.

A tactic that has fairly recently shown up is to try and deflect all the real evidence and throw up a smoke screen by asserting that science and religion are separate ‘Magisteria,’ and that one should not attempt to use science against religion because religion has it’s own ‘truths.’  I suggest that this position is natural animal fertilizer…religion has no ‘truths’… it is pure lie and it has to constantly change in minuscule amounts year after year to try to keep up with the real world.

Bush ‘plans Iran air strike by August’

May 28th. Headline from the Asia Times Online out of Hong Kong.

The George W Bush administration plans to launch an air strike against Iran within the next two months, an informed source tells Asia Times Online, echoing other reports that have surfaced in the media in the United States recently.

Two key US senators briefed on the attack planned to go public with their opposition to the move, according to the source, but their projected New York Times op-ed piece has yet to appear.”

Story Here: Asia Times

We really need another war, don’t we? So far in Iraq we have lost over 4000 young Americans and it’s going to cost well over a trillion dollars. America is already broke; we just don’t realize it yet. China and Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries already own our economy. Bush and his policies have hocked our children’s, children’s, children’s future.

Isn’t Russia and China pretty friendly with Iran? Can you say “End Times?”

If this attack really happens, we need to immediately start bending over to kiss our ass goodbye.

Update 9.27.08  Well so much for that prognostication.
