We Are All Children of Africa

.
ALL the evidence from ALL the relevant sciences just keeps pointing to Africa, and that the early hominids are our ancestors.  Religionists of course have been denying this for over a hundred years…but the science is relentless and cohesive, we humans are products of evolution, not created ex-nihilo by some imaginary Jewish God 6000 years ago.

Priests, rabbi’s, pastors, Mullah’s, and  theologians on all sides can make all the Grand Pronouncements and split all the hairs they want for eternity, and all we atheists need to do is point to humankind’s KNOWN past and the KNOWN path we took to get where we are today.  And of course the evidence for our ancestry kinda’ kills the mainline established Christian dogma…we now know the old stories are impossible to fit into KNOWN history.

Christianity, as we know it, is on it’s last legs, it cannot integrate the knowledge we now have without major changes to all denominations and theological thought.

Evil, Original Sin, Babies, and God

The writings of Paul, and much of the New Testament (Well actually-mostly Paul), leads one to the belief that the human species is fundamentally flawed, worthless, guilty of sins we didn’t realize we committed, and deserving of condemnation by God. The last I heard the Catholics were even calling unbaptized babies sinful and deserving of punishment. I supposed this is why babies were bashed against walls and dashed to the ground, and occasionally run through with swords in the Old Testament.

Paul entered the pantheon of geniuses when he conceived of the concept of universal sin, or original sin, as we now know it. This concept gave everyone on earth a reason to pay attention to the death of Jesus.

Of course we all know the consequences of original sin, the preachers and ministers all over the world continually remind us. We all die now, something we weren’t going to do when we were created originally…or so they say. Those preachers, pastors, and ministers still haven’t explained all the Neanderthal and pre-historic Homo bones that keep getting themselves found.

We are also guilty of horrible sins that we never committed. Even though we didn’t choose to be born into this earth, and, at least for the first 8 or 10 years are immaculate souls…we deserve to die unless we get religion real quick…so the ministers, pastors, and preachers tell us. I kinda disagree with this whole mess of addled reasoning.

No one has ever chose to be born a human, with the theologically required evil, corrupt, sinful, and incorrigible nature. So for that reason alone original sin does not apply to us, and we are not guilty of, nor deserve punishment for some mythical ‘sin.’ We deserve punishment only for misdeeds we consciously commit. Babies and young children do not deserve the punishment of death for anything, as they have no concept of the kind of sin and misdeeds that these crazy believers in ‘original sin’ think of.

Original sin is a truly crazy concept, and that so many people have believed it for so many years is pure stupidity. It is a monument to incredible ‘chutzpah’ on Paul’s, and the early churches part. And for millions of people to blandly accept the concept and feel guilty for being born and living life is just insane. It boggles my mind.

I think we would be able to blame God for this dilemma, as he was the creator of evil. Someone who eats the fruit of a forbidden tree does not deserve to die. They were newly hatched…and had no concept of right and wrong. Old Testament has no record of God condemning us all to sin. Paul did it, and we have paid for it ever since. We all should tell the pastors, priests, ministers, etc., that the original sin idea or theory…sucks, and needs to be re-examined.

Natural evils and misfortune are brought about by random accidents, flood, forces of nature, things we cannot control, and are not caused by our ordinary decisions or any sinfulness on our part. This is a lie that’s genesis comes from the need of some people to ‘control’ a large part of our lives.

There are golden rules out here that explain all you have to do is treat others as you would wish them to treat you…and the Christians are not the ones who thought of it.

Christians seem to like getting into your face about sin…and they want to be the arbitrators of it to the exclusion of all others.

Does Prayer Really Work?

I see the world and all of the beautiful, wondrous things in it as proof of a creation, but my interpretation of a creation is not the same as a fundamentalist’s view of creation.

Yes, the universe and all in it would seem to have come from somewhere or something. But religion cannot have it both ways; to say the universe had to have a creator and a God does not, is like having your cake and eating it too, it makes no logical sense. I cannot seem to wrap my mind around a spirit being that is supposed to have always existed, and is everywhere, and in all humans brains at the same time.

As humans, we see our world and surroundings manipulated and things being created every-day. The world and universe because of their great age and the physical proofs left behind in rocks, dirt, air, water, misc. artifacts, planets, and the universe itself, seem to have been around forever. To think or contemplate that a spirit, that looks like us, did all that 6,000 or so years ago seems, for one thing, very egotistical, for another-impossible or imaginary. 🙂

Maybe it all could be put to rest, not only for me, but many other people, if a new more accurate, scientifically descriptive model could be made of God. Something that would make sense to a world that is a least 6,000 years removed from supposed Godly creation.

He spoke to the Hebrews, how about giving a modern world that has much better linguistic and comprehension skills something to work with here. What would it hurt to materialize above earth and speak to the Pope or Billy Graham, or Pat Robertson? 🙂

A lot of people have too much distrust and lack of interest because of a barely consciously perceived thought that this is OLD stuff; God has not spoke for 4,000 years, maybe the Hebrews and Paul made him up, maybe he didn’t really exist. The descriptors we have don’t resonate with modern woman/man. We are long out of the spirit-shaman stage in most of the world.

I’m sure the pastors, priests, and rabbi’s at times struggle not only with there own thoughts, but their congregations as well.

Do some people pray in earnestness? Yes, of course they do, well lets have some perceivable, tangible proof that there is someone listening. Many honest God-fearing people (and even me) have prayed down through the centuries for the end of pain and suffering, the end to child abuse, the end of evil men hurting people, the end of hunger, the end of war, the end of everything bad…Never happened….Not even once.

Why?
